We’re loving the big shoe trend for low block heel pumps in larger sizes. There is gorgeously prim 1960’s vintage feel to them that makes them elegant and unexpected when paired with an otherwise contemporary look. What better way to make the transition from dreary winter to the hope and joy of spring with these ultra-lady like, and super comfortable (yes, I said it!) shoes.
The trend for low block heels was first spotted on taste-makers last year including Alexa Chung, Zooey Deschanel, and Anne Hathaway. It continued strong on Spring 2013 runways with Marni and Balenciaga sending down their versions of the trend so we’re pretty sure we’ll be seeing more of this big shoe trend around come spring. Low heel block pumps are also the sturdier option in the schizophrenic weather conditions of the next couple of months when you want to add a little touch of polish to your ensemble without tottering around in sky high heels. Team them with thick tights and a mini skirt for a retro vibe or throw them on with cropped jeans for dressed up casual and walk the fine line between cool and frumpy.
